The sex abuse trial of Father Eric Dejaeger continues today (Monday 25 Nov.) and throughout the week in Iqaluit, Nunavut. The trial will continue for another four to five weeks.
I noticed that I didn’t post the names of the bishops who headed the Diocese of Churchill-Hudson Bay from the time Fatehr Dejager started serving in what is now known as Nunavut. I will add them to the page. When I first put the data base up I wasn’t including the names of the bishops. At some point I realized that that is information which should be added to the page of every accused priest. I will add the names to the Dejaeger page, but, for now, here they are:
Bishops of Churchill Hudson Bay from the time Father Eric Dejaeger started to serve in the North, from the time he served his diaconate year in Repulse Bay in 1977, through the two sex abuse trials at which Dejaeger entered guilty pleas, and the charges which by agreement of Crown and defence were never prosecuted, and through to 1995 when he fled the country (with some assistance it seems) for his native Belgium to elude trial on a fourth set of charges, and throughout the years he remained a fugitive from justice. Here then are the names of those bishops:
Bishops of Church-Hudson Bay from the time Eric Dejager served his diaconate and after ordination his : Omer Alfred Robidoux, O.M.I. (7 March 1970 – 12 November 1986) Reynald Rouleau, O.M.I. (15 May 1987 – 16 February 2013); Anthony Wieslaw Krótki, O.M.I. (16 February 2013 – )
Repulse Bay, Pelly Bay, Igloolik, Baker Lake were then and still are all part of the Diocese of Churchill-Hudson Bay.

I have pulled out my notes from the sentencing hearing of Father Daniel Miller and will finish writing that up.
A reminder that there are two courtdates for Father Miller this week in the Pembroke, Ontario courthouse (297 Pembroke Street East):
(1) His first court appearance on the new sex abuse charges is tomorrow morning, Tuesday 26 November 2013. I have a call in to get the start time. As soon as I get a call back I will post it;
(2) Sentencing (for conviction), Thursday, 09:30 am, 28 November 2013
Now back to my notes
Enough for now,
Sylvia
