A former Kingston Catholic priest is facing more charges in connection to historical sexual assaults.

Kingston Police began their investigation into allegations against Robyn Gwyn early this year.

The alleged sexual assaults occurred between the late 1980s and 2000.

Gwyn – who now lives in Nova Scotia – was brought back to Kingston in September to face three charges.

Since then, police say another victim has come forward.

On Wednesday, when he was in Kingston for a court appearance, he was re-arrested and slapped with nine more sexual assault charges.

Gwyn was a priest in Kingston from 1988 until 2002 when he moved to a parish in Carleton Place.

He left the Catholic Church in 2004.

Police say while in Kingston he served as chaplain for the Catholic school board and had related work in Brockville.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Melanie Jeffries at 613-549-4660, ext. 6185 or email mjeffries@kpf.ca.
